Get those pencils and books back out! It's time to go back to school!
As the academic year begins, employees in Martin Marietta's Southeast Division and elsewhere are doing what they can to make sure the children are ready.
Jason Waddell, senior sales representative in the Company's North Georgia District, Kevin Baird, plant manager at Newton County Quarry, and other employees brought much needed school supplies to underprivileged children during the Back to School Jamboree in Oxford, Georgia.

New Beginning Full Gospel Ministries, the local church that organized the event, said the supplies are expected to benefit up to 200 students from the elementary through high school levels.
Martin Marietta, the largest corporate sponsor of the July 25 event, donated $300 to the cause, which allowed Waddell and Baird to purchase 55 notebooks, 15 scientific calculators, 15 protractors and 20 boxes of mechanical pencils.
The donation covered about 85 percent of the students’ needs.
