Martin Marietta today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Roselyn R. Bar, senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, an executive vice president of the Company.
Bar joined Martin Marietta in 1994 as assistant general counsel and assistant corporate secretary. She was promoted to corporate secretary in 1997 and associate general counsel in 1998. In 2000, she became deputy general counsel. The following year, she was named vice president and general counsel. Prior to today's announcement, Bar served as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, a role she had held since 2005.
Before joining Martin Marietta, Bar was corporate counsel at Sun America Inc. Prior to working for Sun America, she was a corporate attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York and Los Angeles.
Bar holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester and a law degree from the Brooklyn Law School. She serves as the vice chair of the Council of Counsel and as a member of the Legal Task Force of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA). She is a member of the New York, California, Florida, and American Bar Associations.
