Martin Marietta named to Dallas Morning News Top 100 Places to Work list

For the second time this year, Martin Marietta has been named as a top employer in a major metropolitan area.

In November, the company was selected for inclusion on The Dallas Morning News’ Top 100 Places to Work, a ranking that highlights the best employees in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The recognition comes just months after The Denver Post named the company to its list of Top Workplaces of 2019.

Cement and Southwest Ready Mix Division President Kirk Light speaks to The Dallas Morning News.

The ranking, determined solely by an extensive employee survey focused on various elements of workplace culture, put Martin Marietta at the #25 spot in the news outlet’s “large company” category.

‘This is truly a reflection of the great culture our employees help to create every day,’ said Cement and Southwest Ready Mix Division President Kirk Light.

In addition to the Cement and Southwest Ready Mix Division, the city is also headquarters to Martin Marietta's Southwest Aggregates Division, which is led by Division President Ron Kopplin.

Vice President of Human Resources Jill Reeder, who oversees HR for both divisions, said the fact that the ranking is entirely based on employee opinion makes it all the more meaningful.

“We’re confident that our people have long understood that we want them to be safe and that we want them to act ethically. This recognition tells us that they also understand that we want them to be engaged,” Reeder said. “All of our employees – regardless of responsibility or experience – strive to create a positive working environment. This recognition tells us that those efforts are having an impact.”
