Related to Severe Weather Cancellation of the Concert in the Quarry ®

(The following message was sent by e-mail on June 14. 2017.)

Dear Guest,

We have finally received information back from the insurance company, and we’re delighted to report that we will be able to refund 100 percent of your ticket purchase. We have not yet received the funds, but as soon as we do we will begin processing refunds. We expect the entire process will be complete within the next two weeks. If you paid via credit card, the funds will go back on the card. If you purchased wristbands from students and paid via check or cash, please respond to this email with your mailing address and confirm the amount of your purchase so we can mail a refund check. If you indicated you wish to donate your refund to the schools, thank you very much and there’s no need to do anything further.

We appreciate everyone’s patience through this process.

Best regards,

The Concert in the Quarry

Dear Guests,

Just a quick note to let you know we are still communicating with the insurance adjuster in hopes of refunding ticket prices. They are currently working on our claim, but have not yet come back to us with a final judgment. We are communicating with them daily to try and push things along. As soon as we hear something definitive we will let you know. Again thank you for your patience as we work through this.

Best regards,
The Concert in the Quarry

Dear Guests,

Many of you want to know about ticket refunds, and we understand it is important we handle your inquiries quickly. During the planning process for this concert we acquired an insurance policy to mitigate the losses should we experience an extreme weather event such as the one experienced Saturday night. We are actively working with the insurance adjusters and are well into the process of executing a claim.

We hope that the success of our effort with the insurance company will provide funds for reimbursed ticket sales, although we are uncertain of the time line. We will keep you updated on our progress.

The primary purpose of Concert in the Quarry was to provide funding for various school programs at South Forsyth and Lambert High Schools. All funds in excess of the actual expenses (the main act, stage, lighting, buses, tables, chairs, tents, etc.) will go to these valued high school programs.

Some of you have already replied that you want to donate to the school programs. If you have emailed and indicated that wish before, there’s no need to reply again. We have you down and very much appreciate your response.

Thank you for your continued patience. We will send you another update as soon as we hear anything of substance from the insurance company.

Best regards,
The Concert in the Quarry

Dear Guests,

We are so disappointed that the weather did not cooperate with our Concert in the Quarry event on Saturday, May 20. It took a tremendous amount of time, energy and effort from both Lambert and South Forsyth high schools, as well as Martin Marietta, to pull this thing off. The kids worked very hard to put on a great show for you and all were ready to do their part to make your experience a memorable one. However, we felt the risk of severe weather was substantial, and we were not comfortable remaining in the open atmosphere of the quarry.

Unfortunately, we are unable to schedule a rain date for the event, as it is the end of the school year and students, faculty and advisors will be doing their own things for the next couple of months. Rest assured, though, that we plan on making the Concert in the Quarry an annual spring event that you can look forward to attending every year.

With regard to refunds, we are working with our event leadership, including representatives from both high schools, to develop a plan and will send another communication to you in the very near future regarding how this will be handled.

We greatly appreciate the outpouring of support we received from the community, and look forward to producing a fantastic show for you next year.

Best regards,
The Concert in the Quarry
