We are so disappointed that the weather did not cooperate with our Concert in the Quarry event on Saturday, May 20. It took a tremendous amount of time, energy and effort from both Lambert and South Forsyth high schools, as well as Martin Marietta, to pull this thing off. The kids worked very hard to put on a great show for you and all were ready to do their part to make your experience a memorable one. However, we felt the risk of severe weather was substantial, and we were not comfortable remaining in the open atmosphere of the quarry.
Unfortunately, we are unable to schedule a rain date for the event, as it is the end of the school year and students, faculty and advisors will be doing their own things for the next couple of months. Rest assured, though, that we plan on making the Concert in the Quarry an annual spring event that you can look forward to attending every year.
With regard to refunds, we are working with our event leadership, including representatives from both high schools, to develop a plan and will send another communication to you in the very near future regarding how this will be handled.
We greatly appreciate the outpouring of support we received from the community, and look forward to producing a fantastic show for you next year.
