Four operations in Martin Marietta's Rocky Mountain Division were recently recognized for their safety performance in 2015 by the Colorado Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (CSSGA).
The employees at Cottonwood Sand & Gravel in Longmont finished first in the association’s Class II category (20,000-29,000 hours), followed by the team at Taft Hill Sand & Gravel in Fort Collins, which finished in second place.
In Class III (10,000-19,999 hours), Fountain Sand & Gravel finished in second place, with Greeley Ready Mix tied for third. Both Fountain and Greeley were repeat winners, having also been recognized by the association for their safety performance in 2014.
The CSSGA’s awards are presented to plants in each category that had no reportable or lost-time incidents, and no restricted duty assignments, for the year.
