The Harrell Sand and Gravel Plant in Harrell, Arkansas is another example of Martin Marietta’s continuing commitment to the environment. This reclamation project is one of the largest in the history of the Company. The project took 2 years to complete and encompasses over 800 acres of a former aggregates operation. The processing equipment was removed and the landscape prepared for future generations to enjoy. Deer tracks can be seen and natural grasses have taken hold as nature embraces the land.

This project was nominated for the prestigious Interstate Mining Compact Commissions Annual National Mine Reclamation Award and earned Honorable Mention from the committee.
