Martin Marietta Materials has been named to the 2008 list of Fortune Magazine's "America's Most Admired Companies" finishing first among companies in its industry category. This is the fourth time Martin Marietta has been recognized on Fortune's annual ranking. It is the first time that the Company has topped the "Building Materials, Glass" industry list.
Also making the list in 2004, 2006 and 2007, Martin Marietta is the only North Carolina-based company on this year's list to be ranked first in its industry. Judging criteria include innovation, financial soundness, employee talent, quality of management, use of corporate assets, long-term investment, social responsibility and quality of products and services. |
In 2007, for the sixth consecutive year, Martin Marietta Materials was named to the InformationWeek 500 listing of the largest and most innovative users of information technology. The ranking lists companies that demonstrate a pattern of technological, procedural and organizational innovation. The Company was ranked #115 on this most recent list. |
