Environmental Excellence
The Environmental Excellence recognition program was created in 1992 (as the Environmental Eagle Awards) to recognize aggregates companies that meet or exceed technical environmental and regulatory requirements. The name of the award was changed in 2006.

Safety Excellence
The Safety Excellence Awards Program was created in 1987 to promote safe working conditions and practices and to recognize, on an annual basis, individual operations with exemplary safety records among NSSGA member companies.

Excellence in Community Relations
The Excellence in Community Relations Awards Program began in 1989 to recognize aggregate producers whose community involvement and support activities have enhanced the public’s perception of the aggregates industry in general and the public image of the individual producer’s aggregate operation in particular. (Beginning in 2007, this award combined the former “About Face” and “Community Relations” award programs.

Environmental Stewardship
The Environmental Steward Award provides national recognition for individuals who have made superior and substantial contributions to their company’s, or to the industry’s, efforts toward proactive, environmentally sound operating practices.

Pit & Quarry Web Site Award
In 2005, the Martin Marietta web site was named a Pit & Quarry Web Site Award Winner. The seventh annual awards program, sponsored by Pit & Quarry magazine, examined more than 200 Web sites of aggregates producers and state associations. This was the second time Pit & Quarry granted this distinction to the Company’s web site; the first was in 2002.
AggMan of The Year
This award, presented by Aggregates Manager magazine, recognizes managers who make “indelible marks on the aggregates industry.” Criteria include career, association and volunteer efforts.
